SLP ART 136, also known as Special Leave Petition (SLP) No. 136, refers to a legal case filed in the Supreme Court of India. In the Indian legal system, an SLP is a petition filed in the Supreme Court of India seeking permission to appeal against a judgment or order passed by a lower court or tribunal. It is not an appeal in itself but a request to the Supreme Court to grant permission to appeal (leave to appeal) against the decision made by the lower court. The Supreme Court has the discretion to accept or reject the SLP.
Special Leave Petition (SLP) is generally filed under Article 136 of the Indian Constitution, which grants the Supreme Court the power to grant special leave to appeal from any judgment, decree, determination, sentence, or order of any court or tribunal in India, except military tribunals.
